Psychodynamic/ Interpersonal Therapy-individual protocol for mood disorder -identifying issues and problems in interpersonal relationships -learning ways to address and improve them -CBT: focuses on identifying and changing dysfunctional patterns of thought -IPT: identifying issues and problems in interpersonal relationships and learning ways to address and improve them -Less intense then formal psychoanalysis -sessions occur once a week and are typically 50 minutes each |
Exposure Therapy-technique in behavior therapy used to treat anxiety disorders
-involves the exposure of the patient to the feared object or context without any danger, in order to overcome their anxiety |
Flooding Therapy-this therapy its treated for phobia
-to learn fear and needs to be unlearned by exposure to the thing that you fear -will learn that there is nothing dangerous about it -involves forced, prolonged exposure to the actual stimulus that provoked the original trauma |
